Week 3 of the Weequahic Park Divident Hill Cleanup.

On Saturday, November 16, on week 3 of the Weequahic Park Safe Park Initiative enhanced the community-focused development from 2012 to current, which took place at the Elizabeth Avenue Dividend Hill location in Weequahic Park.


The Weequahic Park Sports Authority Conservancy joined forces with the Essex County Sheriff Volunteers. This collaboration was dedicated to the removal of undesirable vegetation in Weequahic Park, particularly targeting areas that have been linked to inappropriate activities.


The primary goal of this initiative is to restore the park’s natural integrity and enhance its overall aesthetics, creating a more inviting atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. By addressing the issue of overgrown and unsuitable plant life, the team aimed to improve safety for park-goers and promote the use of this beloved community space for recreational activities and family gatherings.


The efforts of the Weequahic Park Sports Authority and the Essex County Sheriff Volunteers highlight the commitment of local organizations to work together in preserving the park's integrity and ensuring that it remains a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in the community.


Through such collaborative actions, they hope to foster a renewed prominence of pride and encourage more people to enjoy the natural beauty of Weequahic Park.


In attention was the newly elected Essex County Sheriff Amir Jones as he helped to cutback areas in need of attention and share his vision on helping to assist in the safety of the Weequahic Park.
